If you’re looking for a warm and welcoming centrepiece for your home without the fuss and bother of a real fire, a gas fireplace could be the answer. Here at Sussex Fireplace Gallery, we have a wealth of experience of all types of fires and fireplaces including gas and electric fires as well as open fires and woodburning stoves. Our gas fires are available for a number of installations and various styling options including stunning surrounds, enticing fuel effects and convenient remote control operation.

FAQ's for Gas Fireplace Installations

How much does a gas fire cost to run?

To calculate the running cost of your gas fire, you need to know the input rating (kW/hr) of your gas appliance. Check your gas bill for the price per kW you pay, then multiply the two together to give you the running cost per hour. Costs will vary depending on the size and efficiency of your gas fire and your chosen utility company.

Do you use Gas Safe engineers?

Yes, of course! All of our installers are Gas Safety registered engineers, as is required by law. The Gas Safe Register is the official list of gas engineers that are qualified to work safely and legally on gas appliances in the UK. All our engineers carry a Gas Safe ID card, and you can also check on www.GasSafeRegister.co.uk.

Do I need a carbon monoxide (CO) detector for my gas fire?

We would always recommend that a CO detector be fitted as part of any installation that uses a conventional flue. Carbon monoxide is a toxic gas that you cannot smell. For your added protection and safety, an oxygen depletion sensor will stop the gas flow in the event of carbon monoxide reaching unsafe levels due to any malfunction in the equipment.

Which gas fire manufacturers do you deal with?

As a family-owned and operated company with years of experience, we supply a wide range of fireplaces from leading manufacturers. For conventional or balanced flue gas fires, we deal with major brands including Stovax and Gazco, Legend Fires and Barbas Bellfires, supplying stunning living flame gas appliances that can transform any home

Is there a showroom where I can see gas fires in operation before purchase?
